Zero Waste Capital District is a not-for-profit organization in New York State's Capital Region (Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady counties and beyond) focused on education and outreach about the importance of reducing waste.
Mission Statement: Zero Waste Capital District empowers communities to reduce waste through education, advocacy, and the creation of accessible composting, reuse, and recycling systems. We promote a circular economy and core sustainability principles of Refuse, Reuse, Refill, Repair, Rot [compost], and Recycle.
